To ensure that every child in the Eastern Province who needs shoes gets new pairs of shoes.
#60WalkAchildToSchool Foundation is a non-profit organization that is community based and operating in the Eastern Province. Founded by Pinky Tsako on her 60th birthday. The year 2020 was the year I turned 60 years old. When I planned my “Welcome to the 60’s Party” I requested my friends and family instead of lavishing me with expensive gifts, they must rather buy kids school shoes. That is how #60WalkAChildToSchool was ultimately born. You might ask why shoes? Coming from humble beginnings and a spiritual being I have learned that shoes are not just for protection and comfort, they are linked with the subject of heading or direction and focus on life. I was taught poverty must never be read on your outlook. Hence, I committed in the life changing experience of presenting a brand-new pair of shoes to under privileged children.

Since our founding in December 2020, we’ve provided over 2500 pairs of brand-new shoes and other necessities across Eastern Cape. We are targeting on raising 6000 shoes in 2024.

We always make the shoe drop a special occasion. Some of the children it is their first brand new shoes they have ever owned. Then we know pride and dignity is restored to each child, the foundation of a positive and bright future.

In 2022 we have donated shoes to 1600 pairs of shoes to 32 schools around the Province. We visited 4 Municipalities under Amathole District, Ngqushwa Municipality, Amahlathi Municipality, Mbashe Municipality and Raymond Mhlaba Municipality.
